For most dog owners there are two types of training:
1) Obedience training
2) Behavior training

Obedience training uses motivation or positive reinforcement to teach a dog to perform tasks on command such as sit, down, come and roll over.

Anyone can learn to train their dog just like the experts, you are simply using his or her natural motivations to get the behavior you want.

The most important thing to remember when doing obedience or "trick" training is to keep sessions short and fun!

Behavior training addresses behavior problems that occur in the home on a day to day basis. If your dog has behavior problems you are not his pack leader.

This type of training is for the owner, not the dog. Your dog already knows how to recognize a pack leader, its your job to learn how to be one.

By becoming pack leader and using pack behavior you can tackle countless unwanted behaviors exhibited by your dog:

Its never too late to begin a training program. Whether your dog is 8 weeks or 8 years old you can change his or her behavior simply by changing yours.
